Dr. Isha Tyagi, M.S. (E.N.T.), is the Director of Javitri Hospital and Chairman of the Javitri Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. A former Professor of Neuro-otology at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow, and Senior Visiting ENT Consultant at Sahara Hospital, he is best known as the pioneer of cochlear implant surgery in Uttar Pradesh — the procedure that restores hearing to profoundly deaf patients, including young children.

He completed his M.S. in ENT at JIPMER, one of India’s premier medical institutes, and then trained in micro ear surgery at Nagoya Medical School, Japan — where Nagoya University honoured him with a Gold Medal and Certificate of Honor in 1994. His work has since been recognised by the House Ear Institute of California (1996), the Rashtriya Ratan Award with Gold Medal (2003), and a listing in Marquis Who’s Who (2004).
